There could be two ways in which you can use Instagram on PC, but both the ways are not any official ways by Instagram itself but are still not banned by Instagram, so it will be okay if you use any of the two ways. Which way you want to use depends on which features of Instagram do you want to use.

How to use Instagram on PC- By using web browser

Now this one is indeed very ordinary method but is not much useful for decently operating Instagram on Windows or Mac or any other operating system. Because in this method you will be basically logging in your Instagram account using your web browser, so you would only be able to like pictures and look at pictures only. Movies may not play, if you are using this method to operate Instagram. You won’t be able to even post anything using this method. So basically, you only use this method when you want to access Instagram temporarily for basic browsing.

But however, there's no Instagram for computer app available that would make it effortless to upload photos and use the app's filters on your computer or Mac. Despite requests from several people for that power to upload pictures from their computers, Instagram offers no such function. (there are a few options for keeping photographs from Instagram, however.)

Here are the steps you need to go after, to access Instagram for PC:

Step 1: Open your browser and type www.instagram.com .(Instagram website)

Step Two: Log in to your Instagram account (by providing your username and password)

As you log in, you will be able to see your news feed just like you do in your mobile phone. You will be able to like a picture, see your notifications and go after or unfollow people. But you won’t be able do anything else.

So if you want to use Instagram decently, then you need to use another method, which will surely give you better functions.

To Use Instagram on PC- by Using Android Emulator

Here we are going to use Android Emulator, which nothing but an application which will help your PC mimic an android phone. Using an android emulator you can actually run android applications on your PC or Laptop. Using this you can get the exact same version of Instagram you use on your phone on your PC, with same features availability. You can upload pictures, like pictures, witness movies and even upload movies, same as you do on your android phone. There are many android emulators available that you can download for free, for ex: Amiduos, Andy, Menu, Nox, Bluestacks and much more. Here I will be using Bluestacks for explaining the steps, but you can even use another android emulator which will just slightly different steps. I choose Bluestacks; hence I am using that one.

Here are the steps you need to go after:

Step 1: Open Bluestacks official website (www.bluestacks.com).There you will get Bluestacks app player which is a free android emulator, which will help you run Instagram on your PC.

Step Two: Now you need to download Bluestacks, by clicking on the blue button available on the upper right corner of the webpage.

Step Three: Go after up the prompts that you get to install Bluestacks o your PC. Just make sure the “App store access” option is checked while installation.

Step Four: When Bluestacks is installed, open it and then search for Instagram. (Search button is available on the upper left corner of the screen in Bluestacks). You can also download Instagram Apk Directly.

Step Five: Click the icon that emerges.

Step 6: You will get a Bluestacks sign in page, where you need to sign in using your Google account.

Step 7: then open Instagram on the Google Play and then click on Install.

Step 8: Once Instagram is installed, open it and then sign in by using your username and password (this process only occurs for the very first time).

Now you will get a decent Instagram application in your desktop.

The features that you can use by installing Instagram for PC by using Bluestacks are:

1. Upload photographs: You need not to transfer your photos to your phone; you can now upload them directly from your PC.
2. Edit Photographs, applying filter: Not just plain uploading, you can even edit your pictures there and then.
3. You can even dm your pals: Yes, you can send messages and pictures to some specific people using Instagram on your PC.
